Privacy Notice (Interim)

This notice explains how DevFinite Consulting Inc. ("DevFinite", "we") handles personal information in connection with devfinite.ca (the "Site"). It is an interim notice that covers the Site as it operates today. We will replace it with a full privacy policy before we add any new features that collect more information, and the updated version will be posted here.

What we collect

• When you email us. The Site has no forms. If you email us at [email protected], we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and anything you choose to put in your message or attachments.
• Technical information. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. It uses this to deliver the Site and protect it against abuse and security threats.
• What we don't collect. We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on the Site. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the Site. If we add analytics or other optional cookies later, we'll update this notice and ask for your consent where required.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to your email, discuss and provide our services if you ask us to, keep business records, and operate and secure the Site. We don't sell personal information and don't use it for marketing without your consent.

Service providers and storage outside Canada

We use service providers to run the Site and our email:

• Cloudflare hosts the Site and routes email sent to [email protected].
• Microsoft 365 stores our mailbox.

These providers may store or process information in the United States or other countries outside Canada. When they do, the information is subject to those countries' laws and may be accessible to their courts, law enforcement and national security authorities. Questions about how our service providers outside Canada handle personal information can be directed to our Privacy Officer, using the contact details below.

Keeping and protecting it

We keep emails and related records only as long as we need them for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, including PIPEDA and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, you can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent. To make a request, contact us using the details below. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
